MOONSTONE
One of the most extraordinary minerals because of the "unearthly" glare, which emits a lunar glow (this phenomenon is called adularescence). This pale opalescent lustre is caused by fine-scale oriented microstructure. Belongs to the family of the mineral potassium feldspar. The traditional source of moonstones is Sri Lanka, and recently, India and Switzerland have become the source of moonstone. Moonstone used at S&A collections comes from India.
